Describe the appliance and the job
Portable and window units need an intact cooling circuit and secure handling. A window unit still installed above ground level presents a falling hazard. Fixed split-system and central HVAC equipment need a qualified HVAC assessment before any hauling is arranged.
Before pickup
- Record portable, window, wall-mounted or central equipment.
- Share the model and approximate dimensions.
- Describe mounting height and access from both sides where relevant.
- Arrange qualified removal from the installation before haul-away.

Agree on the boundaries
Do not cut refrigerant lines, release gas or dismantle a cooling circuit. Central-system work is not an ordinary loose-appliance pickup. Confirm the disconnection and recovery responsibilities separately.
What affects the estimate?
A detached portable unit at ground level has a different scope from a mounted unit or fixed outdoor equipment. Stairs, carrying distance and lift access also matter.
Confirm acceptance, the full scope and the pickup address before making arrangements. Explore local pickup planning for nearby communities.
Air Conditioner Removal questions
Can I put an AC unit in ordinary trash?
Check the collecting provider’s rules. Refrigerant-containing appliances need an appropriate disposal process; ordinary household collection should not be assumed to accept them.
Can a broken unit still hold refrigerant?
Yes. Failure to cool does not establish that the refrigerant circuit is empty.
Does this include central AC replacement?
Replacement and fixed HVAC work require a separate assessment. Describe the exact equipment before arranging collection.
