Appliance removal questions
Get the preparation, scope and access questions answered before arranging a pickup.
What details help with an estimate?
The appliance type and count, address, floor level, stairs, connection status and loading access. Photos help explain a tight doorway or built-in installation.
Are disconnection and installation included?
Confirm the exact scope. Utility disconnection, cabinet changes and replacement installation may require a separate qualified professional.
Can I choose a pickup time?
Discuss your preferred timing along with the job details. A request or estimate is not a confirmed appointment.
Can an old appliance be donated?
Acceptance depends on condition and the receiving organization’s current rules. Confirm a recipient before treating donation as the intended destination.
Does a broken fridge still contain refrigerant?
A cooling failure does not prove the refrigerant is gone. Treat the sealed system as intact and arrange an appropriate disposal route.
Can I leave the hoses attached?
Follow the manufacturer’s preparation guidance and agree with the provider on the required disconnected condition. Note any residual water or leaks.
Can a gas range be hauled while connected?
No appliance should be moved while connected to a gas supply. Arrange the appropriate disconnection before the move.
Does pickup include uninstallation?
Confirm this explicitly. Collection and under-counter extraction are separate tasks, and connection work may require another professional.
Can I put an AC unit in ordinary trash?
Check the collecting provider’s rules. Refrigerant-containing appliances need an appropriate disposal process; ordinary household collection should not be assumed to accept them.
Is a chest freezer easier than an upright freezer?
The shape changes the challenge. A chest freezer can need more turning width; an upright can create height and balance constraints.
